Die Autoren möchten der Literaturliste dieser Zuschrift einige Beispiele für Hydrierungen mit Nicht-Übergangsmetall-Systemen anfügen, die unter harscheren Bedingungen ablaufen: DeWitt, Ramp und Trapasso beschrieben Hydrierungen mit iPr3B unter 67 atm (1000 psi) H2 bei 220 oC.1 Haenel und Mitarbeiter2 und andere3 hydrierten Kohle unter knapp 148 atm (15 MPa) H2 bei 280–350 °C mithilfe von BI3 oder Alkylboranen. Mit supersauren Systemen gelingt die Hydrierung von Alkenen bei H2-Drücken von 35 atm oder mehr.4
