This special issue of IEEE Security & Privacy explores future trends impacting cybersecurity policy. Dynamic trends are affecting the landscape of cybersecurity policy making. Whatever the driver of these changes new technologies, threat types, or innovative approaches in government, industry, or society there is a need to anticipate and prepare for them and to clarify the challenges, opportunities, and interdependencies we face. The articles focus on updating the way we think about attribution, assessing the future of cyberinsurance, harmonizing governance in a datadriven society, anticipating future trends in the information environment, and learning about the European approach to cybersecurity governance.
