Her scholarship examines inequality dynamics, family processes, and the impact of early life exposures on individual attainment and well-being.Alejandra Abufhele holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in demography from the University of Pennsylvania as well as an M.A. in public policy and a B.A. in economics from Universidad de Chile. Her research lies in the areas of social demography, family, and early childhood development. She is interested in issues of poverty and inequality across the life cycle.
