L e plus souvent, mes interlocuteurs me répondaient sans détour qu'ils n'étaient pas intéressés ou qu'ils ne se sentaient pas concernés par ma démarche.La conversation téléphonique ne durait jamais plus de quelques minutes : ils s'assuraient souvent de raccrocher prestement, comme on le fait avec les sondeurs téléphoniques.Dès le départ, je dus me soumettre à un exercice essoufflant, alors que défilait devant moi une longue liste d'entreprises où je souhaitais aller pour la réalisation de mon enquête.J'interpellais mes répondants, des représentants d'entreprise, en insistant d'abord sur les pistes de solutions stratégiques et durables aux défis d'attraction et de rétention de la main-d'œuvre que ma démarche pouvait leur apporter.Ces solutions que j'avançais avaient comme corollaire l'intégration, par les entreprises, d'une catégorie de travailleurs largement négligés par leur secteur industriel : les femmes -mais aussi les personnes, en particulier les femmes, issues de l'immigration.Les motifs évoqués pour expliquer leur tenue à l'écart s'érigeaient généralement sur les terreaux biologiques ou nationaux, mais le plus souvent, l'appel à des considérations purement économiques évacuait la nécessité de toute justification supplémentaire.
