Abstract
It was recently brought to our attention that CYP2D6 was previously referred to as P450bufI by Meyer and co-workers. In one of their articles (“Absence of Hepatic Cytochrome P450bufI Causes Genetically Deficient Debrisoquine Oxidation in Man”, U. M. Zanger, F. Vilbois, J. P. Hardwick, U. A. Meyer, Biochemistry 1988, 27, 5447–5454), they report the identification of an enzyme, coined P450bufI, unique in hydroxylating bufuralol in a cumene hydroperoxide (CuOOH) mediated reaction. This work is in agreement with our results and should have been cited in our article. The authors apologize for this omission.
