I ÉditorialCe numéro automnal de la revue Organisation & territoires comprend 9 articles d'actualité, 2 entretiens ainsi que 2 recensions de livres qui devraient intéresser un large auditoire.Marc-Urbain Proulx commence le présent numéro avec un éclairage intéressant sur l'attitude générale de l'État québécois envers ses territoires.Depuis les années 1960, les territoires urbains, régionaux, centraux, locaux, métropolitains et nordiques du Québec ont accueilli plusieurs politiques publiques successives afin de trouver des solutions aux principaux problèmes.Pour ce faire, l'État a misé sur trois concepts globaux d'organisation générale de l'espace : la hiérarchie de pôles urbains, le zonage agricole ainsi que la cohabitation urbaine-rurale.Il a institutionnalisé de nouvelles échelles territoriales d'interventions publiques.Selon l'auteur, même si, au cours des dernières décennies, les gains ont été réels pour le Québec en matière d'aménagement, de gestion publique de biens et services collectifs ainsi que de soutien au développement social, culturel et économique, des problèmes territoriaux importants demeurent, dont l'étalement périurbain, l'érosion de la richesse régionale vers les capitales financières mondiales, la dévitalisation de plusieurs milieux ruraux et le manque de projets de collectivités.L'État québécois, responsable de ses territoires, a donc encore beaucoup de travail devant lui afin de combler ces lacunes et de mobiliser les forces territorialisées autour d'enjeux concrets nécessitant des initiatives innovatrices et structurantes.
