Este trabalho tem o objetivo de identificar que elementos \ndos serviços\nprestados em um estabelecimento de ensino de inglês \nsatisfazem os alunos, são\npercebidos como valor e são considerados relevantes para a \nsua retenção. Através\nde uma pesquisa de campo com os usuários do serviço, em \nforma de questionário\ne entrevistas, buscaram-se resultados que pudessem \napresentar os atributos que\ngeram satisfação e levam à retenção dos alunos. \nInicialmente, são discutidos\nconceitos sobre qualidade, satisfação e retenção na área \nde serviços, embasados\nnas literaturas sobre marketing educacional, de serviços e \nde relacionamento, para\nfundamentar cientificamente a pesquisa de campo. Esta \npesquisa permitiu concluir\nque, no setor de ensino, a satisfação do cliente com os \natributos que agregam valor\nao serviço, apesar de relevante para a sua retenção não é \nsuficiente para evitar\ncancelamento. Torna-se necessário identificar os motivos \nde insatisfação para\nmelhor ajustar as ofertas dos serviços à demanda do \nmercado, atendendo às\nnecessidades do cliente.
