et à Middlebury College (Vermont), à l'École d'été (français), en 1993, 1998 et 1999.Il a offert au cours de sa carrière plus d'une vingtaine de cours de premier cycle, et une douzaine de séminaires de maîtrise et de doctorat.Pierre Hébert a également dirigé 10 thèses et 41 mémoires.Ses travaux couvrent plusieurs domaines : la grammaire, la narratologie, l'histoire littéraire, le roman québécois et, bien entendu, l'histoire du livre.Impressionnante, la liste de ses publications comprend 19 livres et près d'une centaine d'articles parus dans des revues de haut calibre : Voix et images, Études françaises, Études littéraires, The French Review, etc. Il a signé en outre 40 chroniques et quelque 50 articles de dictionnaires et d'encyclopédies, notamment dans le Britannica Book of the Year.Pour clore ce palmarès, ajoutons qu'il a prononcé près de 80 communications, au Québec, au Canada et à l'étranger, et qu'il a obtenu de nombreuses subventions de recherche, ce qui constitue un autre indicateur de l'estime que lui vouent ses pairs et la communauté des chercheurs.L'engagement intellectuel
