Danseur au travail : j'aime... j'ai mal... beaucoup, passionnément L /affiche de la dernière création de Marie Chouinard, bODY_rEMIX/les vARIATIONS_gOLDBERG montre une danseuse se tenant en équilibre sur pointe, supportée par des béquilles.Si, pour certains, l'image publicitaire évoque la richesse d'imagination propre à la danse contemporaine, pour d'autres, elle rappelle les risques bien réels pour la santé d'une forme d'art qui entraîne un taux élevé de blessures physiques et de détresse psychologique.Car oui, le danseur a mal... Dans une série d'entrevues que nous avons réalisées auprès de danseurs contemporains professionnels 1 , tous sans exception nous ont dit être en santé... mais abîmés.Santéisme : je suis en santé parce que je fais ce qu'il fautÊtre en santé pour un danseur équivaut à être fonctionnel, c'est-à-dire arriver à faire son métier et à répondre à la demande chorégraphique, ce qui n'exclut pas l'omniprésence de la douleur ou de l'inconfort dans la réalité quotidienne des danseurs.Nos entrevues révèlent à quel point les artistes ont intégré le discours social dominant qui fait porter aux individus la responsabilité de leur santé.Tout en étant conscients que de nombreux facteurs externes influencent leur santé, les danseurs privilégient spontanément et quotidiennement des solutions qui font écho à l'idéologie santéiste faisant de la santé une question de responsabilité individuelle et de l'entretien de soi, une obligation civique et morale.
