Contexte/problématique : Au cours de leur carrière, la plupart des cliniciens enseignants seront confrontés à des apprenants aux prises avec des difficultés de plusieurs ordres.Beaucoup d'auteurs se sont penchés sur ce sujet au cours des quinze dernières années.Objectifs : Présenter une synthèse de la littérature sur les apprenants en difficulté et à proposer un modèle intégré d'évaluation et d'intervention fondé sur les publications recensées.Méthodes : Des recherches ont été menées dans OVID, Medline, PsychINFO et ERIC pour identifier les références pertinentes.Les bibliographies des articles retenues ont été revues.Des communications personnelles et l'internet ont aussi été considérés.Résultats : Les résultats de la revue de littérature sont présentés dans les trois premiers chapitres du livre.Le chapitre 1 porte sur les symptômes et les signes qui annoncent des problèmes potentiels.Le chapitre 2 résume les publications portant sur le diagnostic pédagogique afin d'aider les enseignants à élargir leur diagnostic différentiel dans diverses situations d'apprentissage problématiques.Le chapitre 3 résume les écrits portant sur la prise en charge de ces situations.Par la suite, le chapitre 4 rassemble les conclusions des trois chapitres précédents et suggère des outils et modèles pédagogiques novateurs et structurés qui faciliteront le recours aux stratégies de diagnostic pédagogique et de prise en charge des apprenants en difficulté.Conclusion : Les professeurs de clinique comme les cliniciens enseignants en milieu communautaire trouveront dans cet ouvrage des conseils adaptés à leurs besoins, puisque le livre propose, d'une part, une étude approfondie du sujet et, d'autre part, des résumés pratiques de la littérature sous forme d'outils d'enseignement faciles à utiliser.
