Abstract

Abstract Ei.ke.nel'la. M.L. dim. ending ‐ ella ; M.L. fem. n. Eikenella named after M. Eiken, who first named the type species of the genus. Straight rods, 0.3–0.4 × 1.5–04.0 µm, unbranched, with rounded ends and a regular morphology. Short filaments are occasionally formed. Nonsporeforming. Gram negative. Nonmotile , possessing no flagella; however, a “twitching motility” may occur on agar surfaces. Facultatively anaerobic . Optimal growth temperature, 35–37°C. Colonies may appear to corrode the surface of the agar ; noncorroding strains may also occur. Nonhemolytic; a slight greening of blood media around colonies may occur. Oxidase positive (Kovacs method). Negative for catalase , urease , arginine dihydrolase , and indole . Lysine‐decarboxylase positive . Nitrates are reduced to nitrites. No acid is formed from glucose or other carbohydrates . Hemin is usually required for growth under aerobic conditions . Occur in the human mouth and intestine; can be opportunistic pathogens. The mol % G + C of the DNA is : 56–58. Type species : Eikenella corrodens (Eiken 1958) Jackson and Goodman 1972, 75 ( Bacteroides corrodens Eiken 1958, 415.) Taxonomic and Nomenclature Notes According to the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN), the taxonomic status of the genus Eikenella is: correct name (last update, February 2025) * . LPSN classification: Bacteria / Pseudomonadati / Pseudomonadota / Betaproteobacteria / Neisseriales / Neisseriaceae / Eikenella The genus Eikenella can also be recovered in the Genome Taxonomy Database (GTDB) as g__Eikenella (version v220) ** . GTDB classification: d__Bacteria / p__Pseudomonadota / c__Gammaproteobacteria / o__Burkholderiales / f__Neisseriaceae / g__Eikenella * Meier‐Kolthoff et al. ( 2022 ). Nucleic Acids Res , 50 , D801 – D807 ; DOI: 10.1093/nar/gkab902 ** Parks et al. ( 2022 ). Nucleic Acids Res , 50 , D785 – D794 ; DOI: 10.1093/nar/gkab776

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
