Abstract

On page 2, right column, paragraph 3, the sentence “Almost equal proportions of men (seven per cent) and women (eight per cent) reported being a victim of physical (18 per cent) and psychological (19 per cent) abuse in intimate relationships in the last five years. 15 ” should have read “Almost equal proportions of men and women reported being a victim of physical (seven and eight per cent, respectively) and psychological (18 and 19 per cent, respectively) abuse in intimate relationships in the previous five years. 15 ” On page 10, right column, bullet 4, under the heading Summary, the sentence “Canadian data show about equal proportions of men (seven per cent) and women (eight per cent) have been victims of physical (18 per cent) and psychological (19 per cent) IPV in the last five years.” should have read “Canadian data from 1999 show about equal proportions of men and women had been victims of physical (seven and eight per cent, respectively) and psychological (18 and 19 per cent, respectively) IPV in the previous five years.” The Canadian Journal of Psychiatry regrets these errors and any inconvenience they might have caused.
