Abstract
AASLD ABSTRACTS 1181A 3.7 years and the median time from HBsAg loss to NA cessation was 0.6 years.At NA cessation, 61% of the patients were anti-HBs positive for a median duration of 0.5 years.After NA cessation, 4 (9%) patients relapsed.Three of them developed detectable HBV DNA (23, 223 and 1320 IU/mL) within the first 3 months.All 3 patients remained HBsAg negative, one was retreated while the other 2 returned to HBV DNA <20 IU/mL.The last patient with a relapse developed HBsAg recurrence and remained HBsAg positive until the end of post-treatment follow-up while maintaining undetectable HBV DNA.The duration of additional therapy after HBsAg loss until NA cessation was not associated with relapse (HR 0.49; p=0.47) and neither was end-of-treatment anti-HBs positivity (Figure).No flares, decompensations or deaths were observed.CONCLUSIONS: In a mixed cohort of NA-treated Caucasians and Asians, response was sustained if NA was discontinued after HBsAg loss.The anti-HBs status at time of NA stop did not affect the risk of relapse.
