Detecting Peritectic Garnet in the Peraluminous Cardigan Pluton, New Hampshire
Bibliographic record
Abstract
J. Petrology (2012) 53(2): 299-324 doi:10.1093/petrology/egr063 The Authors wish to point out that Figure 15 in their paper does not adequately portray the record of feldspar fractionation preserved in the garnet crystals. The following additional figure is offered to clarify a point that was opaque in the manuscript. Figure 1A shows chondrite-normalized Eu and Gd values for Cardigan garnet phenocrysts (filled symbols) and mantles (open symbols) that overgrew peritectic cores. The GdN values show a large decrease, ranging from 140 to 40 times chondrites, compared to a relatively minor decrease in EuN (∼3 to 1 times chondrites). As a result, the Eu/Eu* increases toward the garnet rims (Figure 1B), not because the Eu concentrations increased during garnet growth, but because the Eu* value (interpolated between GdN and SmN) decreased at a higher rate. Thus, the garnet phenocrysts and mantles preserve a record of feldspar fractionation, but this is not evident by the Eu/Eu* values alone.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
