Ce travail de recherche et d’analyse documentaire diachronique propose une synthèse de l’articulation et même de l’adhérence entre écriture et recherche scientifique. Aussi immémoriale que soit la connaissance scientifique, c’est une connaissance portée par l’écriture, par des documents écrits. Cette adhérence rend compte de ce qui fait l’identité de la science en tant que production et connaissance, en tant qu’auctorialité et écrivance logique et rhétorique. L’écriture est à la fois la substance de base de l’écriture de recherche et sa forme finale ; elle conditionne son usage et sa réutilisation ultérieure avec la lecture. La forme est le tissage textuel et documentaire qui associe exposition et argumentation. La substance inclut à la fois les idées et leur problématisation, les lectures et leur citation, la démarche de recherche et son opérationnalisation.
