Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

A search for the rare flavor-changing neutral current process ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}\overline{p}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ using data from the BABAR experiment has been performed. A total of $424\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{fb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collision data collected at the center-of-mass energy of the $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Upsilon}}(4S)$ resonance is used in this study, corresponding to a sample of $(471\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ pairs. Signal ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}\overline{p}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ candidates are identified by first fully reconstructing a ${B}^{+}$ decay in one of many possible exclusive decays to hadronic final states, then examining detector activity that is not associated with this reconstructed ${B}^{+}$ decay for evidence of a signal ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}\overline{p}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}}$ decay. The data yield is found to be consistent with the expected background contribution under a null signal hypothesis, resulting in an upper limit of $\mathcal{B}({B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}\overline{p}\ensuremath{\nu}\overline{\ensuremath{\nu}})<3.0\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}5}$ at the 90% confidence level.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
