Le mythe façonne l’individu : il l’assujettit à des valeurs qui restent souvent inconscientes. Or, quand on écrit, il s’agit tout d’abord de prendre conscience des mythologies qui nous ont été imposées. Dans cette réflexion sur mon écriture, j’aborde les différentes mythologies qui m’ont traversée : la mythologie judéo-chrétienne de ma petite enfance, les mythes gréco-romains hérités de mon adolescence, puis les mythes contemporains que j’ai assimilés depuis ma naissance (mode de vie hollywoodien, célébration du pouvoir et de la richesse, mythe de la Femme avec un grand F, etc.). Car « tout peut être mythe », affirme Roland Barthes dans ses Mythologies . Mais Barthes avance qu’il existe un langage « qui résiste autant qu’il peut au mythe : notre langage poétique ». Car la poésie tente de déconstruire le langage du mythe. Elle ne vise pas à donner une signification, mais elle « s’affirme toujours comme un meurtre du langage, une sorte d’analogue spatial, sensible, du silence ». Voilà qui me rejoint intimement comme poète. Mais comme romancière, qu’en est-il ? Le romancier ne tente-t-il pas de recycler les mythes ou d’en créer à sa mesure ? Cela me semble particulièrement vrai pour la romancière, qui cherche à se réapproprier la mythologie dans une culture où les mythes ont été créés par les hommes. N’a-t-elle pas été jusqu’à maintenant objet de la mythologie plutôt que sujet de son propre imaginaire ? Ce sont autant de points que j’aborde ici, dans cet essai qui prend la forme de courts fragments.
