Abstract
Com o advento da Emenda Constitucional nº. 19/98, que incluiu o princípio da eficiência entre aqueles a serem observados pela Administração Pública, aumentou a necessidade de a Administração Pública implantar um Sistema de Informação de Custos. Não obstante o arcabouço legal acerca do tema no Brasil ter se iniciado com a Lei nº. 4.320/64, o Sistema de Informação de Custos não está implantado em todos os entes da Federação e seus respectivos Poderes, razão pela qual surgiu a necessidade de verificar o estágio de implantação do Sistema de Informação de Custos no Tribunal Regional Federal, da 1ª Região e de suas Seções Judiciárias vinculadas. O método aplicado foi o estudo de caso aliado à entrevista por meio de questionário, observação e pesquisa documental. In casu, o órgão federal pesquisado não possui um Sistema de Informação de Custos e, tampouco uma programação de implementá-lo, em de razão de apresentar as seguintes dificuldades: pessoal insuficiente, qualificação de pessoal, software de informática e disponibilidade financeira. A proposição do estudo não foi confirmada.
