Abstract
O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar as contribuições do farmacêutico para com a promoção da saúde da sociedade em geral. E especificamente, descrever as funções social do farmacêutico, enfatizar a importância do farmacêutico na promoção da saúde diante do Sistema Único de Saúde e pontuar as principais contribuições dadas por esse profissional a população em todas as suas áreas de abrangência. Metodologia: O estudo trata-se de uma revisão integrativa baseada em artigos com foco na análise de pesquisas com autores independentes, a partir da literatura consultada no banco de dados da Literatura LatinoAmericana em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), Banco de dados em Enfermagem (BDENF), artigos científicos de acadêmicos de universidades e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) que abordam a temática em questão. Resultados: Acredita-se que os serviços de farmácia devem ter como foco a educação em saúde, orientação farmacêutica, dispensação, assistência e acompanhamento da farmácia, bem como registro de eventos e avaliação de resultados. Conclusão: Os farmacêuticos também desempenham um papel fundamental no combate à autoadministração. Porque as pessoas não associam o uso de drogas a efeitos desagradáveis. Portanto, nossa abordagem é a orientação medicamentosa, enfatizando os riscos dessa abordagem, como interações medicamentosas e reações adversas.
