Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

One of the contemporary commentators that many Muslims are ogling today is Sayid Qutub. He had many new thoughts through his contemplation of the verses of the Qur'an, and because of his intelligent and brilliant thinking, his name is widely known in the Islamic world today. Sayid Qutub through his contemplation and accurate understanding of the verses of the Qur'an, caused him to give birth to a work of interpretation with a distinctive figure. This study aims to describe the methodology of interpretation and understanding of Sayid Qutub's text in the interpretation which he gives the title F Zhill al-Qur'n which is very rich in methodology, and one of its uniqueness is the technique of interpretation in the problem of texts in the Al-Quran. The method used is descriptive qualitative, where the data is taken through library research through the discussion of the study. Primary data is taken from the literature while secondary data sources are taken from supporting documents. The results of this study reveal that in general, commentators in the contemporary era tend to produce works using thematic methods, especially among commentators who are involved in the academic world. However, it is different with Sayid Qutub, who even though he is struggling in the academic world, emphasizes in his commentary works on the tahliliy method which intends to explain the contents of the verses of the Qur'an from all aspects in a coherent manner as they are arranged in the Mushaf. The sources of interpretation are the arguments of ma'r and ra'yu. Then in analyzing the verse, Sayid Qutub always bases himself on the way of tashwr, tajsm, also reveals the story, and he describes the verses using beautiful literary language. According to Sayid Qutub, texts in the Qur'an are not "erasers", but texts are identical to the theory of "al-Munasabah", namely the linkage of the siyq al-yah which was revealed earlier with the verses that came after it, as a complement to the legal content to strengthen the faith. people.
