Abstract
Este artigo objetiva analisar a aplicação da Política Nacional de Saúde LGBT segundo usuários LGBT e, também profissionais da saúde em um município do Sul do Brasil. É importante discutir as demandas e formas de se atender a comunidade LGBT na Atenção Básica de Saúde. Realizou-se uma pesquisa de campo, por meio de grupo focal entre agosto de 2017 a maio de 2018. Participaram desta, seis pessoas LGBT usuárias do Sistema de Saúde e quatro profissionais. Conseguiu-se por meio das entrevistas, perceber que essa política não é aplicada no município em que ocorreu a pesquisa. Além disso, foi possível constatar a existência de preconceitos enraizados entre profissionais da saúde em relação ao atendimento de pessoas LGBT nas Unidades de Saúde. Os resultados da pesquisa indicam que é possível romper com as barreiras do preconceito, especialmente por meio da discussão da temática LGBT, das questões de gênero e orientação sexual. Sendo importante a valorização e o respeito ao diferente, o acolhimento, a escuta ativa, a fim de que os profissionais da saúde possam melhor atender os pacientes LGBT.
