Le développement de la danse en France, et son introduction dans une multiplicité d’espaces de pratique liés à l’éducation et à la formation, est le produit de luttes engagées ces quarante dernières années. Dans ce mouvement constitutif de la culture chorégraphique, des discontinuités épistémiques sont apparues. Aujourd’hui on assiste à l’universitarisation des formations supérieures en art et à la refonte de la formation en pédagogie de la danse. Par ailleurs les questions sociétales liées aux droits culturels, dans lesquelles la question de l’éducation à l’art joue à plein, deviennent vives. Il est essentiel de dépasser cet obstacle épistémologique pour que la reconnaissance de la danse soit entière et qu’elle acquière enfin toute son aptitude politique. Qu’en est-il aujourd’hui de la production de savoirs dans des espaces de transmission où la danse reste une pratique minoritaire ? Où en sommes-nous de certains rapports qui entretiennent l’opposition technique versus sensibilité artistique ? Cet article est écrit avec pour intention de proposer des repères pour débattre de la production des savoirs chorégraphiques et de leur transmission.
