Abstract
В статье на материалах интервью с носителями коми языка, проведенных в г. Сыктывкаре, исследуются случаи языковой дискриминации в отношении коми и феномен языкового стеснения. Последнее, с точки зрения авторов, является частью и свидетельством сформировавшегося у некоторых из них комплекса культурной неполноценности. Кроме того, рассказы респондентов показывают, что языковая дискриминация и языковое стеснение связаны не только друг с другом, но и с целым рядом взаимосвязанных и взаимообусловленных представлений — о моноязычии как национальной норме («монолингвальный габитус»), об этнокультурных и языковых иерархиях. Язык и культура коми в этих воображаемых иерархиях занимают более низкую позицию, чем русские язык и культура. Более того, публичное использование коми языка, а также наличие акцента – и тот, и другой часто коннотируются с сельской социализацией – могут активировать ряд негативных стереотипов, сконденсированных в пейоративном этнониме «комяк». Все это не может не оказывать влияния на самоидентификацию носителей коми языка. Основываясь на качественных методах исследования, статья не предполагает оценки масштабов рассматриваемых явлений.
