Abstract
O presente estudo pretendeu apresentar uma discussão teórica a partir dos pressupostos da abordagem neoinstitucionalista, de modo a contribuir para uma melhor compreensão do comportamento das organizações diante das novas demandas sociais, em especial, da sustentabilidade. Além disso, também foi realizada uma revisão sistemática da literatura nacional com o intuito de mapear os artigos publicados no Brasil que discorrem sobre as mudanças organizacionais relacionadas à sustentabilidade e às suas principais influências. Os principais achados da revisão sistemática foram: existem poucos estudos sobre os instrumentos proativos/voluntários utilizados pelas empresas; embora não haja uma especificação quanto ao uso da Teoria Neoinstitucional no referencial teórico dos artigos, as variáveis apontadas estão diretamente ligadas ao framework da NEI; há uma crescente homogeneização do comportamento das organizações no que diz respeito aos relatórios de sustentabilidade e sua divulgação; as atividades extrativas, devido ao seu grande impacto, estão preocupadas com questões ambientais e se mostram engajadas com processos de certificação ambiental; e por fim, os processos isomórficos têm sido evidenciados em vários segmentos do mercado no que se refere às práticas sustentáveis.
