Abstract
Background: Voclosporin, a novel calcineurin inhibitor, was approved in the US in 2021 for the treatment of adults with active lupus nephritis (LN) in combination with background immunosuppressive therapy. The Phase 3 AURORA 1 study demonstrated that the addition of voclosporin to mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) and low-dose steroids significantly increased rates of complete renal response at 52 weeks; efficacy was maintained for an additional 24 months in patients who continued treatment in the AURORA 2 continuation study. We report a post-hoc analysis of the long-term safety and efficacy of voclosporin in patients identifying as Asian using 3 years of pooled data from the AURORA 1 and AURORA 2 studies.
