Abstract
La circulation importante des vidéos de concerts sur les plateformes numériques interroge plus que jamais le concert comme rituel public exclusif. En France, ces vidéos sont souvent appelées captations, terme qu’il s’agira d’examiner dans cet article au prisme des différents paradoxes qu’il présente. Pour cela, nous nous appuyons sur une enquête exploratoire par entretiens, que nous avons menée auprès de professionnels français. Dans une première partie, nous mettons en évidence la tension entre secret et publicité, propre à la situation de concert. Nous étudions ensuite le paradoxe que pose la volonté de transposer à l’écran la dimension exclusive du concert, sous forme de document et dans différents contextes médiatiques. Enfin, nous étudions la manière dont la vidéo, lorsqu’elle s’émancipe du rôle de document de concert, affecte en retour le concert et devient elle-même performance musicale, phénomène particulièrement visible à travers les nouveaux formats de captation sur les plateformes numériques. Chacun des paradigmes présentent des enjeux particuliers en termes esthétiques, économiques et patrimoniaux.
