Un mot de la rédactriceC' est un honneur pour moi de vous présenter ce numéro spécial dédié à John Mayne, un « leader d' opinion », un « esprit pratique », un « bâtisseur de ponts » et un « chercheur-praticien » dans le domaine de l' évaluation.Les rédacteurs invités Steffen Bohni Nielsen, Sebastian Lemire et Steve Montague rassemblent quatorze collègues dont les articles documentent, analysent et développent les contributions de John à l' évaluation dans la fonction publique canadienne, de même que son apport à la théorie de l' évaluation.Comme le notent les rédacteurs, « John a laissé un important héritage institutionnel et de recherche en évaluation ».Les articles de ce numéro spécial soulignent les contributions de John à la théorie ainsi qu'à la pratique de l' évaluation et présentent un point de vue « de l'intérieur » sur son rôle précurseur comme champion de l' évaluation au sein du gouvernement fédéral can adien.D'autres articles mettent en relief sa contribution à la théorie de l' évaluation, particulièrement en ce qui concerne l'analyse de contribution, la gestion axée sur les résultats, l'audit et les mesures de gestion, la causalité et la culture de l' évaluation.Ensemble, ces articles mettent en lumière les nombreuses contributions de John au domaine de l' évaluation, comme praticien et théoricien de l' évaluation.Je désire remercier les rédacteurs et les autrices et auteurs qui, ensemble, ont créé un numéro qui rend hommage à l'incidence durable que John aura eue sur ses collègues au gouvernement et dans la grande collectivité d' évaluation.L'apport réfl échi de John continuera d'avoir un impact sur le domaine de l' évaluation pour de nombreuses années à venir.
