Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Very little critical writing exists on Italian theatre in Toronto after World War II, although a lot of theatre has been produced.'Given the wealth of material and the length of time involved, the present study will not be exhaustive, but can rather be considered as a work in progress, an introduction to a larger project. In this prospective study will be included an individual "scheda" for each Italian play performed in Toronto after 1945.Each "scheda" will contain at least the following information: title of play, theatrical company, author, date and place of performance, theatre, occasion of performances (if any), director, actors, producer, number of spectators, bibliography, comments. At present, we have computerized "schede" for over 200 lays.: n view of all this, we will not discuss here performances of Italian plays by non-Italian-Canadian theatre companies or drama centres, even though some of these performances might strike our interest or curiosity, such as the 1978 presentation in Hungarian of _ Pirandello's Henry IV the 1991 staging of The Servant of Two Masters by the Young People's Theatre,' and the 1993 production of Nomads -a trilingual play in English, Somali and Italian -by Art Starts.Similarly, we will not discuss performances by theatre groups from Italy in Toronto, which, especially in the last two decades, have become more and more frequent, sponsored mostly by the following organizations:the Dante Alighieri Society, the Italian Cultural Institute, and the Canadian Centre for Italian Culture and

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
