Submarine Rescue Ship (SRS) merupakan salah satu wahana penyelamatan yang digunakan untuk melaksanakan penyelamatan kapal selam. SRS dilengkapi dengan berbagai perlengkapan tambahan yang dapat membantu dalam pencarian, penyelamatan dan perawatan personel kapal selam yang mengalami kedaruratan. Negara Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara pengguna kapal selam sehingga menjadi keharusan untuk memberikan jaminan keselamatan kepada personel kapal selam dengan memberikan fasilitas yang mampu untuk memberikan akses pertolongan dan penyelamatan apabila terjadi suatu kedaruratan pada kapal selam baik saat bertugas/operasi. Masalah pada penelitian ini adalah menganalisa tentang pemilihan SRS maupun tentang teknologi tambahan yang terdapat didalam SRSyang dapat digunakan dan sesuai dengan karakteristik pengoperasian kapal selam TNI Angkatan Laut. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode AnalitycalHierarchy Process untuk menentukan rekomendasi SRS kepada TNI Angkatan Laut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Sea Power sebagai teori utama untuk menganalisis pentingnya memberikan jaminan keselamatan kepada pengguna laut khususnya personel kapal selam, dengan didukung teori Kecelakaan kerja dan teori Strategy and ForcePlanning. Hasil penelitian kuantitatif menunjukkan prioritas kriteria yang nantinya akan mengerucut kepada prioritas pemilihan SRS dari beberapa alternatif pilihan yang di analisa oleh peneliti. Secara teoritis seluruh teori dan penelitian terdahulu dapat digunakan dalam penelitian ini sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan dalam penelitian berikutnya. Sedangkan secara praktis penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi bagi TNI Angkatan Laut mengenai karakteristik SRS dan berbagai peralatan pendukung yang dapat digunakan untuk melaksanakan pencarian dan pertolongan (Search and Rescue / SAR) pada kecelakaan kapal selam. Hasil perhitungan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan prioritas alternatif SRS tertinggi diperoleh HMS Belos III dari Swedia dengan bobot 0.426787008
