Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This study aims to explore the directions of research on the system of curriculum documents for secondary career education by analyzing that of competence-based curriculum documents for secondary career education in British Columbia, Canada. This study analyzed the characteristics and goals of career education and the structure and components of the content system of the curriculum documents. The findings are as follows: 1) the characteristics and goals of secondary career education in BC emphasize the qualities and values that students should attain, as well as the explicit goals and the processes and methods for achieving them; 2) the content system of the curriculum documents suggests performances and content knowledge with continuity and distinction between middle and high school levels, and ways of intertwining the performances and the content knowledge; 3) the components of the content system demonstrate that student agency is exercised through interactions within the contexts of individuals’ career paths, environments, and communities, and consist of competences by grade(s) and contents with practicality and performativity. This study discussed the need for 「Career and Vocation」 curriculum to emphasize processes and values in the characteristics and goals of career education; to clarify components of performance and strengthen the intertwining of conceptual and performance components in the content system; to consider differentiating 「Career and Vocation」 subject in light of changing educational contexts; and to elaborate the content system promoting continuity and distinction between middle and high school levels.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
