Abstract
Como citar este artigo: Whitaker MCO, Laperrière H, Camargo CL.Atuação docente em espaços de incertezas e imprevisibilidade: práticas locais de enfermagem.Rev baiana enferm.2023;37:e53319.A atualidade mundial está permeada de cenários desafiadores, como mudanças climáticas, degradação ambiental, catástrofes naturais, zonas de conflitos e guerras.Além disso, há o aumento das desigualdades sociais e da pobreza, bem como insegurança alimentar e crises sanitárias, as quais requerem formação de enfermeiras (os) que esteja fortalecida no preparo de futuros profissionais comprometidos com as necessidades regionais, nacionais e desafios globais.Segundo a OMS 1 , o número de profissionais de enfermagem no mundo é estimado em 28 milhões de profissionais, o que representa mais da metade de todos os profissionais de saúde.Este contingente, apesar de significativo, não é suficiente para suprir o déficit deste profissional no mercado mundial e aponta a necessidade de aumentar o número de graduandos em enfermagem, principalmente na África, Sudeste Asiático, Mediterrâneo Oriental, países da América Latina.Cabe salientar que os enfermeiros devem estar preparados para atuar em consonância com importantes acordos internacionais, como Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) e agenda 2030, na tentativa de erradicar a pobreza e promover vida digna a todos, dentro das condições que preservem o planeta e possibilite qualidade de vida para as próximas gerações (1-2).
