(Abstracted from N Engl J Med 2022;387:2150–2158 Some diseases, such as early-onset lysosomal storage diseases, are so destructive that organ damage begins before birth, in utero. For some of these conditions, therapies have been developed to reduce damage and increase the likelihood of a higher quality of life in affected patients.
