Miniaturization involves new challenges for micro-fabrication, packaging, and optics. In this paper, we fabricate sub-millimetric solar cells with high performances and low kerf losses (< 10%). A new interconnection method for these cells is also presented allowing to reduce the shading of the cells by 10 compared to the wire bondable cell. We propose the design of a 350× one-stage optics to fabricate modules with manufacturing tolerances on cell misalignment reaching ±50 μm.
