Abstract
Selon David Bollier, l’un des spécialistes les plus réputés du phénomène : « […] un commun, c’est : une ressource + une communauté + un ensemble de règles sociales » ( Bollier , 2014, p. 27). En inscrivant notre démarche de recherche dans une perspective essentiellement sociologique, nous tentons d’abord dans cet article de préciser le contenu des « règles sociales » évoquées par Bollier. Ceci nous conduit à proposer un idéal-type du commun, à l’aide duquel nous explorons ensuite plusieurs organismes montréalais, dans le but de mieux cerner ce que nous proposons de nommer le processus de communalisation . Dans un second temps, nous discutons des apports et des limites de ce processus dans la perspective d’une stratégie interstitielle de sortie du capitalisme ( Olin Wright , 2017), notamment par rapport à deux formes sociales voisines de celle des communs : les coopératives et les communautés intentionnelles. Nous considérons l’ autoproduction comme l’une des caractéristiques importantes de la communalisation, que négligent bien souvent les principaux théoriciens des communs.
