Neste trabalho, pretende-se apresentar a trajetória do PALLE,que é uma das primeiras atividades de caráter extensionista da UniversidadeEstadual de Feira de Santana (UEFS). Surgiu como resposta a umaprovocação da comunidade, no sentido de fazer voltar à universidade osseus egressos para vivenciar interações entre teoria e prática da línguaestrangeira. Assim, partindo de problemas pertinentes ao ensino da língua,o referido Projeto fundamenta sua proposta de trabalho no paradigmasócio-interacionista e, baseado nesse pressuposto teórico, visa contribuirpara a formação do professor, oportunizando-lhe conhecimentos geraisque lhe permitam ter acesso a novos conhecimentos, além de ensejar atroca de experiências com companheiros de trabalho, ressignificando ofazer docente do profissional de educação. Considerando, desse modo,problemas atinentes ao trabalho do professor, o Projeto coloca comoponto de questão o flagrante déficit na aprendizagem da língua estrangeira,apesar de todo avanço e aparato tecnológico que têm sido dispensadosàs escolas da rede pública.
