Abstract
La Société orthodoxe nationale des femmes roumaines a été une association culturelle, active de 1910 à 1948, dont les membres sont parvenus à fonder des jardins d’enfants, des écoles, des bibliothèques dans de nombreuses localités de Roumanie. Durant la Grande Guerre, les féministes, aussi bien celles qui sont restées dans le territoire occupé de la Roumanie (telles Alexandrina Gr. Cantacuzino, Zoe Gr. Râmniceanu, Zoe Rosetti-Bălănescu), que celles qui se sont refugiées en Moldavie (comme Maria Baiulescu, Elena Perticari, Maria Glogoveanu, Margot Oromolu), ont organisé et entretenu des hôpitaux pour les blessés, des refuges et des cantines pour les orphélins, ont porté correspondance avec les prisonniers de guerre de l’Empire Austro-Hongrois et d’Allemagne. L’article présente en particulier trois personnalités exemplaires parmi ces femmes d’exception : Elena Alistar, de Bessarabie, Maria Baiulescu de Transylvanie et Alexandrina Gr. Cantacuzino de Valachie, qui, en tant que leaders d’associations féministes, ont promu autour de 1918 les idéaux unionistes des Roumains à travers de nombreuses initiatives et actions : la fondation et l’unification d’associations de féministes, l’organisation de conférences, la publication de mémoires et d’article de presse à contenu unioniste.
