Abstract
Este artigo, revisitando a dissertação de mestrado do autor principal, tem como objetivo aprimorar a compreensão e o aperfeiçoamento da eficiência de transporte em escala regional, dentro e entre áreas metropolitanas. A infraestrutura e os serviços de transporte eficientes desempenham um papel crucial na conquista do desenvolvimento sustentável, no estímulo ao crescimento econômico e na mitigação dos impactos ambientais. Nas regiões metropolitanas, onde ocorre a concentração da urbanização e do crescimento populacional, a importância da eficiência do transporte se torna ainda mais evidente. Para abordar essa questão, este estudo propõe uma metodologia que combina teoria dos grafos e medidas de polaridade para analisar as hierarquias regionais e seu impacto na eficiência do transporte. Ao representar a rede viária regional, cidades e praças de pedágio como um grafo com atributos vinculados aos dados quantitativos das economias urbanas, essa abordagem oferece um método conciso e replicável para examinar a hierarquia de redes em economias urbanas. Os principais resultados desta pesquisa contribuem para uma melhor compreensão da dinâmica regional e identificam nós-chave dentro da rede de transporte. Essa análise fornece insights valiosos para tomadas de decisão baseadas em evidências e o desenvolvimento futuro de políticas de transporte, visando aprimorar a eficiência do transporte em tais áreas.
