Cette étude présente les résultats obtenus du travail de cartographie thématique des facteurs d’érosion diffuse dans le bassin de la retenue du barrage de l’Oued Sarrath. Elle s’appuie sur l’application de la version révisée du modèle empirique de Wischmeier et Smith 1978 (USLE) et propose sa cartographie. Pour la détermination des pertes en terres et l’élaboration de la carte de sensibilité à cette érosion, le modèle a nécessité le croisement des paramètres liés aux précipitations, à la structure et texture des sols, à la pente, au couvert végétal et aux techniques antiérosives. Les résultats obtenus montrent que la perte moyenne des sols, liée à l’érosion hydrique en nappe dans le bassin de la retenue du barrage de l’Oued Sarrath, est de l’ordre de 23,72 tonnes par hectare par an. Une quantité qui dépasse les taux tolérables dans des conditions similaires. Les pertes en sol sont par ailleurs inégalement réparties. Elles sont très faibles dans les bas-fonds, et atteignent 458,945 tonnes par hectare par an au niveau des reliefs pentus, dépourvus de moyens de protection antiérosive.
