Ativação e desativação da câmera de vídeo durante o trabalho em grupo on-line síncrono

Abstract
Desde a sua introdução, há décadas, a aprendizagem on-line tornou-se um componente do ensino superior, com instituições em todo o mundo oferecendo cursos on-line. Uma característica fundamental do ensino on-line é o uso de software de videoconferência com possibilidade de ativação da câmera de vídeo durante encontros síncronos. Com base nas ideias de Vygotsky e Wallon de como a emoção e a cognição estão interligadas e são igualmente relevantes nos processos de aprendizagem, este artigo tem como objetivo entender como o uso do recurso da câmera de vídeo no trabalho em grupo on-line síncrono afeta a construção de relacionamentos nesses ambientes e a aprendizagem dos alunos em geral. Os resultados qualitativos de 22 entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas com 12 alunos e 10 instrutores de cursos superiores on-line de formação de professores são compartilhados. Tais resultados demonstram que tanto instrutores quanto alunos percebem que há consequências em ligar e desligar a câmera de vídeo durante as sessões síncronas e que ver outras pessoas na câmera ajuda a promover relacionamentos afetivos positivos entre os alunos. As descobertas contribuem para a literatura relacionada ao uso de câmeras de vídeo em ambientes de aprendizagem on-line e servem para informar instituições e instrutores que projetam cursos on-line com atividades síncronas em grupo.
