Artikel ini membahas salah satu karya W.S. Rendra berjudul Kisah Perjuangan Suku Naga (1975) dengan memfokuskan pada permasalahan ekologi dalam teks tersebut. Ada dua hal persoalan lingkungan. Persoalan pertama, bagaimana masyarakat Suku Naga menyikapi rencana pembangunan tambang tembaga di tengah-tengah lingkungan alam dan budayanya? Kedua, bagaimana masyarakat Suku Naga dan pemerintah Astinam menyelesaikan konflik kepentingan itu? Isu lingkungan dalam drama ini menunjukkan terjadinya konflik kepentingan antara penduduk Suku Naga dengan pemodal yang akan membuka lahan pertambangan. Untuk membahas kedua kepentingan itu digunakan pendekatan ekokritik. Melalui pendekatan itu dapat diungkapkan relasi antara manusia dan lingkungan alam di dalam konteks konflik kepentingan. Dalam hal itu, masalah ekologi merupakan mata rantai dalam sebuah ekosistem.
