Abstract
The direct ion wind gyroscope is a new concept in rotation measurement. Built around a pin-to-mesh ion wind generator, corona discharge around a pin anode ionizes air, which is then driven to a mesh at ground potential by the electric field generated from the discharge voltage. The ground potential mesh is divided into two electrically isolated sections, each of which independently measures electrical current from the ion flow. When rotating, this ionized air flow is deflected by the Coriolis effect. The difference between the electrical current to each half of the divided mesh depends on the magnitude of the deflection and, therefore, the rotation. This is a simplifying improvement on the existing ion wind jet flow gyroscopes, as it uses a single ion wind generator both to create the jet flow and to detect its deflection, leading to significant improvements in robustness and power consumption. This article includes a theoretical justification of the principles of the design, the results of a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model showing the flow within the device, and experimental results from a functional direct ion wind gyroscope prototype built to prove the concept.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
