Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO: A dor crônica mostra-se como uma experiência subjetiva que pode ocorrer devido a fatores biopsicossociais e alterações no sistema nervoso, comprometendo a funcionalidade e qualidade de vida. OBJETIVO: O objetivo desse estudo foi investigar os aspectos sensoriais, afetivos, avaliativo, miscelânea e intensidade da dor em indivíduos com dor crônica. METODOS: Vinte indivíduos com diagnóstico clínico de dor crônica foram avaliados por meio do McGill Pain Questionnaire. O Teste Qui-quadrado de Person e o coeficiente de contingência foram utilizados para comparação dos aspectos de percepção da dor com sintomas e intensidade da dor. RESULTADOS: Foram observadas uma relação do aspecto afetivo com a presença de sintomas de tontura, e relação da intensidade da dor com os sintomas de constipação, diarreia e dor de cabeça. A ingestão de alimento apresenta associação com aspecto afetivo e miscelânea da dor. CONCLUSÃO: A dor crônica mostra alterações na percepção de dor a nível de sistema nervoso associado a desencadeamento de sintomas fisiológicos.
