Les récentes recherches portant sur la réponse du système scolaire québécois aux appels à l’action de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation (CVR) du Canada montrent plusieurs manques à gagner lorsque cette réponse est comparée à celle du milieu canadien anglophone. Si certains auteurs s’intéressent aux particularités de la société québécoise, peu d’études se sont concentrées sur la place des appels à l’action de la CVR dans le cadre de la formation initiale en enseignement (Pilote et Joncas, 2020). Or, cette première étape dans la vie professionnelle d’un enseignant est déterminante quant à la forme que prendra sa future pratique pédagogique. Il semble donc essentiel de s’interroger sur la place qu’occupent les appels à l’action dans la formation initiale à l’enseignement au Québec et dans quelle mesure les étudiants sont invités à y donner suite dans leur propre pratique. Afin de mieux comprendre cette situation, cet article propose une analyse des différents programmes de baccalauréat en enseignement de l’histoire offerts par les universités québécoises. Une comparaison des attentes pédagogiques, des cours et des possibilités de mise en pratique mettra en lumière l’hétérogénéité des formations. Une discussion servira finalement à identifier les points forts, mais également les manques à gagner des formations offertes par rapport aux demandes de la CVR.
