Teoria do capital humano e o homo œconomicus na sociedade neoliberal

Abstract
Esse artigo tem como principal objetivo apresentar a teoria do capital humano desenvolvida por Theodore W. Schultz e Gary Becker, buscando articulá-la à noção do sujeito neoliberal elaborada por Foucault e reinterpretada posteriormente por Pierre Dardot e Christian Laval. Para isso, o artigo recupera o conceito de capital humano desenvolvido por Schultz e Becker nos anos 1960, visando destacar a crescente importância que o investimento em educação passa a adquirir como fonte de produtividade e agregação de valor. A partir da leitura dos neoliberais, Foucault busca compreender o novo sujeito que se forja com a governamentalidade neoliberal, aproximando-o da figura do homo œconomicus. Nessa nova sociedade, os indivíduos, pressionados pela dinâmica concorrencial, sobretudo do mercado de trabalho, têm buscado cada vez mais investir em si próprios (por meio da formação escolar e técnica, de cursos de línguas, da preparação emocional e física), como forma de ampliar rendimentos. Procura-se argumentar que a configuração desse sujeito neoliberal está intimamente ligada às transformações no mundo do trabalho, ao processo de financeirização e ao entendimento do trabalhador não apenas como consumidor, mas também como um investidor, um investidor de si próprio.
