Efeitos do treinamento com pesos em indivíduos com doença de Alzheimer: estudo piloto

Abstract
Objetivo: Analisar os efeitos do Treinamento com Pesos na Qualidade de Vida (QV) e na cognição global (CG) de indivíduos com Doença de Alzheimer. Método: A amostra foi composta por 12 indivíduos, sendo 6 participantes do grupo treinamento (GT) e 6 no grupo controle (GC). Foram utilizados os instrumentos para avaliação do estagiamento da DA (Escore de Avaliação Clínica - CDR), da CG (Montréal Cognitive Assessment - MoCA) e da QV (Escala de Avaliação da Qualidade de Vida na Doença de Alzheimer - EQV), além de anamnese sobre informações sociodemográficas e clínicas. O programa de TP durou 16 semanas, com duas sessões semanais de 60 minutos cada. Resultados: Não foram encontrados efeitos estatisticamente significativos na QV e na CG de indivíduos com DA após a prática do TP. Entretanto, os resultados sugerem benefícios clínicos do TP, pois observou-se aumento das médias das pontuações na QV e na CG no GT e uma diminuição das pontuações no GC. Conclusão: O TP não apontou efeitos estatisticamente significativos, mas indicou benefícios clínicos para aumento da QV e da CG. Recomenda-se a realização de novos estudos com maior número de participantes e maior duração do TP em indivíduos com DA.
