O feminicídio é uma qualificação do homicídio, a Lei 13.104 o que distingue esse crime do homicídio é o fato de ser praticado contra a mulher pelo simples fato de ser do sexo feminino, envolve preconceitos, discriminações e outros fatores que acercam a vulnerabilidade da vítima. A pesquisa tem como objetivo geral investigar a respeito do crime de feminicídio na cidade de Manaus, e como objetivos específicos (1) refletir sobre o processo histórico da violência contra a mulher, a partir da perspectiva de gênero; (2) levantar dados estatísticos sobre o feminicídio em âmbito nacional, estadual e municipal e; (3) evidenciar as políticas de proteção à violência contra a mulher, no enfrentamento do feminicídio. No estudo utilizou-se como técnica de pesquisa o tipo bibliográfico, desenvolvida por meio de materiais já existentes, como livros, artigos científicos e documentos oficiais, baseado na perspectiva teórica do materialismo dialético. Tendo a pesquisa alcançado resultados positivos, pois através dela conseguimos alcançar e responder os objetivos estipulados de forma a beneficiar acadêmicos de diversos cursos e sociedade.
