[End Page 4] Joseph Stanton joseph stanton is a Professor Emeritus of Art History and American Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. As an art historian, he has published widely on American artists and writers. He often collaborates with artists, playwrights, musicians, and other poets and occasionally teaches poetry-writing workshops, such as the "Starting with Art" workshops he has taught at the Honolulu Museum of Art and Poets House (New York City).
