Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This chapter presents a number of basic power electronic concepts. It serves as an introduction of sorts for novice readers who may be unfamiliar with power electronic concepts that are related to DC–DC switch-mode power converters with high switching frequency. The most basic DC–DC converters are linear voltage regulators that are based on the principle of controlled voltage drops. Most DC–DC converters today are switch-mode converters that operate with active power semiconductor devices that are used as on–off switches. The boost converter is the simplest DC–DC converter that can step up voltage. It consists of the same elements as the buck converter – a switch, a diode, an inductor, and a capacitor, but arranged in a different manner. The buck, boost, and buck–boost converters that have been presented in this chapter are considered to be three of six fundamental six-switch non-isolated DC–DC converters in the power electronics literature.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
