Abstract
O presente artigo visa analisar o Documento de Santarém, promulgado em maio de 1972, ao final da reunião dos bispos da Amazônia brasileira, à luz de Hb 2,5-18 em seus aspectos “encarnação” e “libertação”. Essa temática oferece, a partir do referencial bíblico-teológico, a ligação entre a inculturação da Igreja na realidade amazônica e a promoção do bem comum, à luz da Encarnação de Jesus Cristo na humanidade e a libertação de todo o gênero humano. Sendo assim, buscar-se-á provocar um debate o qual ainda se faz necessário, depois destes 50 anos do documento, que é a evangelização como sinal visível de uma Igreja a qual também se encarna e ao se encarnar, torna-se agente de libertação, isto como objetivo específico. Para alcançar tal propósito, o método utilizado será o da pesquisa bibliográfica, centrada no documento inspirador, bem como artigos e documentos com referência à realidade amazônica e aprofundamentos sobre a carta aos Hebreus, em seus aspectos: autoria, lugar de composição, destinatários. Tudo isso para dar base à análise exegética, a qual tem por finalidade correlacionar os termos destacados do documento e que estão presentes ao interno da perícope.
