comptes rendus 237 la seconde moiti du XVI e sicle.L'auteur rappelle aussi les gots d'Henri d'Angoulme pour la culture.Pote ses heures, cet homme de cour assista aux premires sances de l'Acadmie du Palais que le roi avait institue en 1576 pour clairer la conscience de ses sujets.Les crivains en vue lui firent la cour, comme Amadis Jamyn qui lui ddia sa traduction du chant XVI de l'Iliade d'Homre (1577).Son intrt pour les Lettres, autant que les exigences de son rang, le dcidrent s'entourer d'crivains, comme Franois Malherbe et Simon-Guillaume de La Roque qui furent de sa cour en Provence, et cela jusqu' sa mort survenue le 2 juin 1586, sous les coups du ligueur Philippe Altovitiis.Peu avant, Claude Binet lui avait rserv un exemplaire personnalis de son Discours de la Vie de Pierre de Ronsard, imprime Paris chez Gabriel Buon.La biographie du btard royal tudie le parcours singulier et la russite de cet homme laquelle il n'tait pourtant pas promis cause de son illgitimit.Il permet de lever le voile sur la vie politique des Valois et de faire la lumire sur la part qu'y prit Henri d'Angoulme.
